Ensuring a safe working environment is a shared responsibility for everyone in the laboratory. This Laboratory Safety Training material is designed to help all staff, researchers, and laboratory users at the L.A. Orbeli Institute understand and follow essential safety procedures before beginning any lab work. The training is based on the Laboratory Safety Manual, which outlines key policies, standard operating procedures, proper use of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and best practices for minimizing health and safety risks in the lab.
Before starting any work in the lab, all personnel must:

• Review the Laboratory Safety Manual
• Complete this safety training course
• Familiarize themselves with specific safety protocols, chemicals, and emergency equipment in their designated lab areas

At the end of the training, you will be asked to complete a short quiz to assess your understanding of core safety principles.
