Naira Ayvazyan, the IPH Director, gave an interview to Armenpress, providing an overview of the Institute’s activities and future plans. She highlighted the Institute’s collaboration with Professor Narine Sarvazyan from George Washington University, who is currently leading the €2.5 million EU-funded ERA Chair project. This five-year project focuses on the application of hyperspectral imaging for surgical targets. Additionally, the project aims to improve compliance with regulatory frameworks. The absence of formalized units responsible for animal care, biosafety, and human subject research has created challenges in international collaboration, access to funding, and publication of scientific papers. Furthermore, the Institute’s vivarium is undergoing renovations to meet European standards and will also serve other scientific institutions in the country. The goal of these efforts is to transform the Institute into a Center of Excellence.
